Boutinot Fide et Arte ‘Les Cerisiers’, Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2014

We first made ‘Les Cerisiers’ in 2006, with the intention of making an elegant Provençal rosé style from the Rhône and in 2014, our eighth vintage, we believe we have perfected the style. We journeyed across the Rhône river, to vineyards on the right bank close to Tavel, to source varieties naturally suited to making rosé – Grenache Noir for body, Syrah for a touch of spice and a little Cinsault to add a Mediterranean piquancy to the finish.

As with previous vintages, ‘Les Cerisiers’ 2014 is made in the same way as the best rosés of Provence, using the ‘rosé de presse’ method of gentle pressing the same morning the grapes are picked, and the vinified at cool temperatures to preserve the delicate aromas and flavours.

Probably our best rosé yet ‘Les Cerisiers’ 2014 is serious, elegant and stylish.  The nose is subtle and delicately perfumed with notes of raspberry red fruits; the palate is soft, juicy and luscious with a zesty Mediterranean tang adding another layer of complexity to the pale red fruit flavours.
