Boutinot Rhône | The Wine Of The Rhône, France

Boutinot Fide et Arte ‘Les Cerisiers’, Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2013

To create this elegant rosé we specifically source Grenache Gris which has a natural lusciousness and gives a lovely round component to the wine; while Grenache Noir brings body and depth to the palate, and Cinsault adds a Provençal-style Mediterranean tang to the finish. This rosé is made in the same way as the best rosés of Provence, using the ‘rosé de presse’ method of gentle pressing the same morning the grapes are picked and then vinified at cool temperatures to preserve the delicate aromas and flavours.

The delicate shade of pink is wispy and ephemeral like crêpe de chine; the nose is fresh and tantalising with notes of redcurrants and wild strawberries; and the palate is soft, fruity and dreamily luscious with just the hint of a spicy Mediterranean tang adding another layer of complexity to the vibrant red fruit flavours.
