Boutinot Rhône | The Wine Of The Rhône, France

Boutinot Fide et Arte ‘Les Cerisiers’, Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2011

To create this elegant rosé we specifically sourced Grenache Gris which has a natural lusciousness and gives a lovely round component to the wine; the Grenache Noir brings body and depth to the palate, while Cinsault adds a Provençal-style Mediterranean tang to the finish. This rosé is made in the same way as the best rosés of Provence, using the ‘rosé de presse’ method of gentle pressing the same morning the grapes are picked to achieve only 50% extraction.

A pale, sublime and very elegant rosé with a lovely soft plump texture and good depth and length; delicate fresh red fruit flavours combined with the aromatic perfumes of the wild herbs and scrub which grow abundantly in the southern Rhône.
