Les Coteaux '09 makes Wine Spectator 100 Outstanding Values list

Wine Spectator Outstanding ValuesIt seems Christmas has come early for our Boutinot Rhône 'Les Coteaux' Côtes du Rhône Villages 2009 as it achieves a place on the Wine Spectator's '100 Outstanding Values' list (Dec / Jan 2013 issue).

To gain a place on this Wine Spectator' list wines must be rated 90 points or higher and cost US $18 or less. The publication's specialist tasting team then select wines to be entered on the list.

'Les Coteaux' 2009 is one of just six Rhȏne reds included and the only Cȏtes du Rhȏne Villages to be listed.

The inclusion follows a previous Wine Spectator review (September 30th issue) where 'Les Coteaux' '09  was listed as a 'Smart Buy' within the Buying Guide and described by James Molesworth, the publication's Rhȏne expert as:-

“This broad, gutsy red delivers lots of mouthfilling plum, blackberry, roasted fig, bramble, smouldering tobacco and warm stone notes. Dark and dense through the finish, but well-delineated. Drink now through 2016. 90 points”

Boutinot Rhȏne's 'Les Coteaux' is part of the Fide et Arte range made by Eric Monnin.  A blend of Grenache Noir (and a little Syrah) from the best selection of wine of the 17 named Côtes du Rhône Villages, 'Les Coteaux' is enriched with a small propotion of barrel-aged wine from Sablet, Séguret and Cairanne.
