'La Côte Sauvage', Cairanne Côtes du Rhône Villages 2014 from Boutinot Rhône has been awarded 90 points by the Wine Spectator (31st August 2017 issue).
In a ‘Sneak Preview’ of the August 31st issue, James Molesworth, the publications Senior Editor and Rhône specialist described ‘La Côte Sauvage’ 2014 as:
“This has enticing mesquite and black tea aromas that give way to a core of gently steeped red currant and plum fruit. Shows a solid graphite edge through the finish.”– James Molesworth.
This review follows 90 points awarded in April 2017 by the UK's Wine Gang and in May a winning place on the UK’s Top 100 Wine Merchant list. Judges commented that La Côte Sauvage 2014 shows "outstanding winemaking, at a very good price”.
La Côte Sauvage, Côtes du Rhône Villages 2014 was made with Grenache Noir, Syrah. Mourvèdre and Carignan Noir hand picked from old vineyard plots above the village of Cairanne, all recently awarded Cru status.
