'Les Six', Cairanne, Côtes du Rhône Villages 2014
91 POINTS, Wine Spectator (31st August 2017)
“Fleshy and inviting, with a velvety feel to the layers of boysenberry, cassis and plum fruit that glide through, lacedwith subtle black tea and anise notes. A buried graphite spine allows this to drape nicely on the finish.”– James Molesworth

Revealed in a ‘Sneak Preview’ of the August 31st issue these 91 Wine Spectator points follows high acclaim from other respected publications including 14.5 -15 points in La Revue du Vin de France (Issue 592)  and 90 points and a DWAA Silver medal from Decanter (March 2017).

'Les Six' is a blend of six grape varieties, co-fermented together in pairs to show how the rare and ancient varietiesof Carignan Noir, Cinsault and Counoise can enhance the more popular southern Rhône varieties of GrenacheNoir, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

Following a traditionally slow vinification, using only natural yeasts, gentle remontage and manual pigeage Les Six is later assembled and matured only in tronconique (large oak vats) for up to twelve months at the Cairanne cellars of Domaine Boutinot Rhône.

2014 is the last vintage of  'Les Six' to be released as Cairanne, Côtes du Rhône Villages following the elevation of Cairanne to Cru appellation status from the 2015 vintage.
