Last night, as the winners of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2016 were revealed, guests enjoyed La Fleur Solitaire and Les Coteaux from the Boutinot Rhône range.
Popular in the Southern Rhône as an apéritif, La Fleur Solitaire, Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2015 was last night served with Heirloom Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella salad, Olive Powder, Pea Shoots and Charcoal Oil.
Les Coteaux, Côtes du Rhône Villages 2013 was paired with 24 hour slow cooked Aberdeen Angus Beef. Both wines were given a perfectly pronounced ‘shout out’ by the evening’s host, radio DJ Matt White of XS Manchester to the 400 guests attending.
Boutinot’s Scott White presented the Casual Dining Award, sponsored by Boutinot Rhône, to winners Volta (below). Restaurants who’ve listed wines from Boutinot Rhône and Boutinot picked up a clutch of awards including The French (Front of House and Best Premium & Fine Dining Venue winner); Albert’s Schloss (Bar of the Year) and Levante (Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year).
